Director, camera, editing
Born August 25, 1963 in Monthey, Valais, Switzerland. Currently
lives in Lausanne.
Graduated from the University of Lausanne in 1990. During his
studies, P.-Y. Borgeaud also made super-8 films, afterwards,
wrote, produced and directed in 1989 Another love Story,(encore
une histoire d'amour). This short 16mm film was presented at
the Locarno Film Festival. From 1986, he has worked as an independent
journalist, collaborating with several newspapers, magazines
and various radio stations. He is also active as a musician (drummer)
and producer of the jazz group Urgent Feel (3 CDs, concerts in
Switzerland and abroad, TV).
In 1996, he decided to work full time in video production. He
worked in the US where he obtained a certificate from New-York
University, dept. of film, video & broadcasting ("A" grade).
In 1998, he made several video clips for the Label ECM and started
to explore the possibilities of mixing live images and music.
Along these lines, he worked with, among others, the pianist
Pierre Audétat and the guitarist Christy Doran. Producer,
director, cameraman and editor, he founded Momentum Production
with the goal to develop and produce his own projects. In 2000,
he received the prize for young creators from the Foundation
Vaudoise for Artistic Creation.
